Egypt is one of the most traveled destinations across the North African region. People all over the world are enchanted with the ruins and relics found in Egypt from the ancient Egyptian civilization. The pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, the Nile river are just some of the most well-known tourist magnets that Egypt boasts of.
The government of the Arab Republic of Egypt has been looking at ways to promote tourism in the country. It has now introduced an Electronic Travel Authorization system officially called Egypt electronic visa to enable travelers from around the world to conveniently receive their travel authorizations online. This new system allows them to avoid having to visit a local Egyptian embassy or consulate to acquire an Egyptian visa. Instead, travelers can complete an online application within a few minutes, pay a processing fee and receive the necessary visa via email all in a matter of days. This ends up being a more convenient alternative to the traditional visa system, therefore, more tourists are expected to make use of it in the coming years.
Ukrainian citizens deciding on an Egyptian visa for their travels to the country should consider the different types of eVisas offered by the Egyptian government. Do Ukranian Citizens Need An Egyptian eVisa?
The Egyptian eVisa is available to citizens of certain eligible countries. For citizens of other countries that are not on the list of qualifying countries for the Egyptian eVisa, they will need to apply for a traditional visa from a local Egyptian embassy or consulate in the country. In the event the applicant is unsure whether or not their country qualifies for the Egyptian eVisa, they may contact their local Egyptian embassy to verify their eligibility.
Ukraine is on the list of countries whose citizens are eligible to apply for an Egyptian eVisa. The entire application process is really simple and takes a few minutes to complete. It also saves the travelers a lot of time as applicants do not have to wait in lines at the embassy or at airport to receive a visa for entering Egypt. Even though Ukrainian citizens are eligible for visa on arrival, travelers are encouraged to apply for the Egyptian tourist visa beforehand.
The Egyptian eVisa can be valid for single entry or multiple entries into the country. Ukrainian applicants can request a multiple entry visa as they complete their online application for the Egyptian eVisa. It should be noted that this feature is only available for Ukrainian citizens applying for an Egyptian eVisa ahead of time and is not available as a visa on arrival feature. The single entry eVisa is valid for a maximum stay of up to 30 days in the country. The multiple entry eVisa is valid for a maximum stay of up to 180 days. Ukrainian applicants should apply for the Egyptian eVisa at least 7 days prior to their trip.
Egypt eVisa Requirements for Ukrainian Citizens
The Egyptian government has set certain requirements for all Ukrainian applicants of the Egyptian eVisas. These requirements must be met prior to completing the online eVisa application. They include:
- Having a valid Ukrainian passport
- The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in Egypt
- A few blank pages (preferably two) for entry/exit stamps to be placed
- A valid email address
- A valid credit or debit card

To begin applying for the Egyptian eVisa, Ukrainian citizens will need to fill out an online application with details such as their name, date of birth, address, telephone number, travel dates and passport details. Applicants will also need to answer questions related to their medical history and criminal records. Travelers must ensure that all the information they provide on the form is accurate otherwise they risk having their travel plans interrupted due to processing delays or a visa denial.
Applicants will also be required to pay a processing fee via a valid debit/credit card in order for the Egyptian eVisa application to be submitted. Before submitting the application, travelers will have the opportunity to review the information they have entered on the form to ensure that it is accurate.
Traveling to Egypt from Ukraine
Ukrainian travelers that have submitted an application for an Egyptian eVisa can expect to receive their eVisa via email within 3 business days after submitting the application. Travelers will be responsible for taking a printed copy of the eVisa with them when they travel to be presented to Egyptian authorities upon arrival at an Egyptian port of entry.
