Egypt eVisa for Portuguese Citizens

Access to Egypt eVisa Form

Egypt is one of the world’s most sought-after places to visit, with over 9 million international tourists per year, which includes Portuguese nationals.

This is why the government of Egypt introduced a new way to apply for a travel permit with ease. The system is known as Egypt eVisa, and it is considered to be much cheaper and convenient than the traditional visa to visit the country.

Eligible applicants of Portugal can now apply online in a matter of minutes, making the whole process hassle-free and much more time-saving.

Do Portuguese Visitors Need an eVisa to Egypt?

Nearly all international visitors traveling to Egypt need to acquire an online tourist visa to Egypt. Portuguese passport holders are amongst the eligible citizens who can apply for this type of travel permit.

However, all visitors traveling under this eVisa must be entering the country for the purpose of tourism and sightseeing, and they must also determine if a single-entry or a multiple entry visa is needed.

Types of Egypt visas available for Portugueses

Portuguese nationals must make sure they are traveling with the correct visa type before arriving in Egypt. In order to know if they are applying and/or have the proper travel permit to visit Egyptian territory, they need to consider two aspects: the estimated length of stay, and the purpose of their trip.

The government of Egypt has made various types of visas to Egypt available for international foreigners depending on their reasons for visiting the Middle Eastern country.

The following are the types of Egyptian visas available for Portuguese citizens:

Egypt single-entry tourist visa

The single-entry visa allows a visitor of Portugal to stay in Egypt for tourism for a maximum of 30 days and has an entry validity of 3 months from the date of issue.

If the visitor of Portugal exits Egypt and later wishes to re-enter, they will need to apply for another Egypt tourist eVisa.

Multiple-entry eVisa to visit Egypt

The multiple-entry visa permits its holder to enter the country several times over a total validity period of 6 months. However, each stay made by Portuguese nationals must not surpass 30 days.

Egypt visa on arrival

Portuguese travelers wishing to receive a visa on arrival to enter Egypt can do so, once they arrive at the chosen port of entry. In order to receive a VoA, as the visa on arrival is commonly known, Portuguese arrivals must ensure they have checked and revised all the necessary requirements before arriving in the country.

However, Portuguese nationals should know the Egypt VoA is considered less convenient than an Egypt eVisa since visitors can face longer waiting times when arriving at the airport due to high traveling demands. Also, VoA holders need to present their documentation in person and pay a fee in cash, which might increase the chances of errors and missing information.

Applicants of Portugal are advised to research the different types of visas that are offered by Egypt, and also to make sure that all the requirements can be met as each visa has its own set of regulations and methods of application.

eVisa Requirements for Portuguese Citizens Traveling to Egypt

Portuguese applicants are required to revise, prepare, and meet the necessary visa entry requirements set out by the Egyptian government in order to successfully obtain the e-visa for tourism.
