Egypt is a popular tourist destination with over eight million visitors who travel to discover its cultural and natural treasures every year. In order to facilitate tourists’ entry to the country, the government of Egypt has introduced an online visa. Egypt eVisa is available for citizens of eligible countries, including travelers from the Czech Republic.
Do Czechoslovakian Passport Holders Need a Visa for Egypt?
Czechoslovakian citizens, like travelers of most other nationalities, need to obtain a visa for Egypt. Czechoslovakian passport holders have two choices when it comes to Egypt: They can either obtain an entry visa at the Egyptian border (visa on arrival) or apply for an online tourist visa prior to their travel to Egypt.
The second option has several advantages:
- It allows for an easy online application which only takes a few minutes
- The applicant can choose between a single-entry and a multiple-entry visa
- Payment can be done online
- It saves a lot of time as travelers who already have a visa are not required to wait in lines at the border
Applicants who prefer to obtain an Egypt visa upon arrival are required to pay the visa fee in cash. Debit and credit cards are not accepted. Furthermore, Egypt eVisa on arrival allows a maximum stay of 30 days in the country and only one entry.
Egypt visa for Czechoslovakian passport holders is not needed for transiting through the country on the way to an onward destination for less than 48 hours. For transfers with a duration between 6 to 48 hours, travelers must obtain a transit visa. Note, however, that there is no need for a visa for transits of less than 6 hours since passengers are not permitted to leave the airport.
Egypt Visa Requirements for Citizens From Czech Republic
In order to obtain an Egypt visa for Czechoslovakian citizens, a number of requirements need to be met. First of all, travelers must be in possession of a valid passport issued in the Czech Republic. Among other required documents, Czechoslovakian passport holders must have a valid payment card, either debit or credit, as they will be asked to pay the Egypt eVisa fee online. The payment will be done through a secure online system.
Lastly, applicants need to have a functioning email address to receive the Egypt eVisa approval. The visa needs to be printed and presented in paper form along with the passport at the Egyptian border.
