Egypt Visa Entry Requirements

In order to successfully pass through border control upon arrival in Egypt, travelers will need to meet certain entry requirements. Those who are required to have a visa in order to enter Egypt will also need to make sure they follow certain visa requirements for travel to Egypt.

Passports should be valid and have at least 6 months’ validity remaining. This should be checked at the time of visa application in order to avoid complications both before and whilst traveling.

If traveling with a visa, all documentation relevant to the visa will need to be presented upon arrival, such as the corresponding passport. The eVisa is emailed to applicants upon approval and should be printed for presentation at border control.

Required Documents to Travel to Egypt

If travelers are visiting Egypt on a tourist visa that has been obtained online, it is crucial to print the eVisa. The Egyptian eVisa should be presented at border control upon arrival and also be kept on your person throughout your trip.

All passports must be valid for at least 6 months upon the date of entry to Egypt.

Other Egyptian visa requirements involve a credit or debit card to pay the visa fee and a valid email address in order to receive the visa.

Travelers who wish to apply for a visa on arrival may require other documents and have other requirements, such as cash in order to pay the visa fee. Travelers may also need to check that they have space in their passport to be able to receive any entry stamps at the main Egyptian ports of entry.

Who Requires a Visa to Egypt?

The majority of nationalities need a visa to visit Egypt. There are different types of visa available for Egypt and it is recommended that travelers revise the visa types and which visa is most suitable for their travel purposes. Eligible citizens are able to obtain an eVisa for Egypt through a simple online application.

At present, only 9 countries are exempt from an Egyptian visa: Bahrain, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Lebanon (for certain airports only on a charter flight), Macao, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Malaysia.
